Over recent decades, energy consumption has skyrocketed, as have environmental degradation factors. The energy sector is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world as a result of its dependence on fossil fuels. To avert the climate crisis and save the future generation, it is evident that efficient energy systems are the need of the hour. Sensirion, one of the most distinguished products of digital micro-sensors and systems in the world, is doing exactly that.

Sensirion's vision is to make a difference and create the foundation for smart technologies for the future. It offers sustainable and energy-efficient energy management solutions to its clients. Headquartered at Staefa, it has a presence in the USA, South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Germany, which ensures its services all around the globe. Sensirion is synonymous with innovation, dedication, and excellence. It is extremely dedicated to its customers and strives to deliver high-quality and reliable products.

Sensirion products are hallmarks for high-efficiency, utility, and performance. Its sensors are commonly used in the medical, industrial, and automotive sectors. Manufacturing of analytical instruments, consumer goods, and HVAC products utilise its sensors. One of the most distinguishing features of Sensirion products is the use of its patented CMOSens® Technology which enables intelligent system integration of the sensor element, logic, calibration data, and a digital interface on a single chip.
Sensirion implements this in advanced semiconductor technologies that use specific microsystems. The resulting sensor chips are precise, and reliable in measuring the desired physical parameter such as humidity, temperature, or mass flow.

Sensirion makes CMOSens® microchips with a high degree of integration and functionality that provides analogue and digital signal processing. These chips are also enhanced by self-tests and low-power consumptions. CMOSens® chips utilize cost-effective standard processes which assure an optimum price/performance ratio. Sensirion produces sensors that are fully calibrated, and the customers don’t need to perform the expensive and tiring calibration process by themselves. CMOSens® Technology chips offer a complete sensor system on a single chip for quantification of air quality signals.

Sensirion’s MOXSens® Technology combines CMOSens® Technology with metal-oxide-based sensing technologies for manufacturing efficient gas sensors. This amalgamation enables highly sensitive and reliable measurement of pollutants such as volatile organic compounds. Such sensors have combinations of multiple metal-oxide sensing elements to increase reliability. These can detect very small concentrations, from a few parts per million (ppm) to parts per billion (ppb). These also offer high robustness against contamination agents such as Siloxanes, resulting in long-term stability and accuracy.

Sensirion produces CO2 sensors based on its PASens® Technology that employs Photoacoustic sensing principles. This technology enables the extensive miniaturization of CO2 sensors without compromising their performance. Sensirion believes that Hydrogen will play a critical role in the expansion of renewable energy sources in the future in achieving the Global Climate Protection Goals. It is also working on technologies to exploit hydrogen to generate clean and affordable energy.

Sensirion recently partnered with Anglia, which is the UK’s leading independent authorised distributor of semiconductors, optoelectronics, interconnect, passive and electromechanical components. Sensirion also launched its latest Formaldehyde Sensor Module SFA30 which is equipped with advanced algorithms for highly reliable and selective formaldehyde detection at very low concentrations.

Sensirion continuously evaluates the latest technologies and techniques for improving the health, comfort, and energy efficiency of its products. By employing new techniques, Sensirion is pushing the sensor industry towards new standards. From its achievements in developing energy-efficient solutions, it is evident that Sensirion is on the path of developing groundbreaking technologies that will foster sustainable operations in several industries in the future.
